Smarter Balance Feels Off Center

As a practicing teacher testing the smarter balance assessments, I was excited to see how the field test aligned with my districts interpretation of the Common Core Standards. The result was a little surprising.
Let's start with the good.
- The test was challenging but fair. In regards to the content the students had covered the test was doable.

- The interface did not seem to bother the students. Although it took a couple of practice tests for the students, they were not intimidated by the way to input problems.
- It was completely electronic and the bugs we encountered were easy to overcome.

The Bad
- Sadly the questions did not always align with the Standards at all.
- The tests administration times were not accurate. Our average class took 4 hours to finish.
